First photo..Blacksmiths regularly make their own tools. We often use an old monkey wrench to create a "twisting tool" to put a twist in square rods. Needs 2 handles to make a neater twist (like a tap & die) handle. ...And no self-respecting artist/blacksmith would put just plain handles on anything !
Second photo tailgate for my truck..don't have a truck right now though, so the gate hangs in the garage.

I run the historic blacksmith shop at our state fair a day or two each year while the fair is going on... Here, I am demonstrating the difficult art of forge welding at the fair. That is of course, welding together by forge only. Very touchy..the steel must be melted on the surface but not clear to the core, otherwise the whole thing will just fall off. Too cool by a few degrees..won't weld, too hot by a few degrees and it melts off. Steel melts at 2700 F.
