And yes, I heard back in the dark ages around 2008 that Keeway builds good stuff. The parent company, Geely, is a huge company with vast resources so they should have a handle on quality. Read on to see how big. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geely |

I was told my "credibility fell off a cliff" on that certain Italian scooter forum because I dared to say a QJ Motor LTR 150 was a scooter worth owning. These QJ scooters, like the Hanway Royal Alloy 300, are a different breed than the Tao Tao, Shanghai Shenke's of the past. Geely is a much bigger company than the dirt floor factory scooters imported before this. |
Ducati was still building motorcycles on dirt floors before being bought-out in the early 2000's. Those certain Italian owners are the same people who purchase Prada and other fashion icons. Give me a decent pair of Wrangler jeans and cheap t-shirts and I'm fine! Vans shoes did drop in quality over the years and are no longer worth the money but I starting wearing J&M shoes because they're comfy and last a long time.
Concerning that Italian brand its only as good as the mechanics that fix them. My semi-local Piaggio dealer has a terrible service side. They just wanna throw parts at a problem because no one knows how to read the P.A.D.S. diagnostics computer. Then they do sloppy work on top of everything. I still go on that forum and its always "Scooter won't start." because the chip reader for the key dies or "Check engine light is on." for any number of reasons. Vespa scooters have gotten to complicated in my opinion. I want a Royal Alloy 300. I'm still trying to find out who makes the motor for them. The fact that they have had them in England for awhile, and they flog any and all scooters there, and the RA300 has held up is a good sign. I use my scooters for main transportation. Roughly 35 miles a day in all weather and temps. I do chicken out if it snows though! Reliability is of utmost importance. |

What I also do know is that a Royal Alloy 300 finished the 2023 Scooter Cannonball while a whole bunch of 300 Vespas didn't. Take from that what you will. I would think a Genuine dealer would be more reliable given the reputation of their scooters. |

Ambitious for Livewire although the price is shocking.

Whenever my wife and I see a Royal Enfield in person we check it out. Great looking motorcycles. I would love to get one but we have zero dealers in our area, Such a shame. Triumph makes some nice looking bike as well and the last one I rode was a mid-2000's Speed Triple., but none of the Triumph motorcycles tug at my heart strings or my wallet like the R.E. bikes.
That lady went on a heck of an adventure! I hate leaving my state in a car! I have no more grand adventure in me. Wait, I take that back. I'd LOVE to do the Italian tour on a Vespa. My wife is Italian so she would like it as well. |
I don't have the link but Keeway is coming to America. I like the Sixties 300 model. I hope we get a good local dealer!

Agree, the no dealer listing is weird. I might email them and ask whats up.
|
Emailed Keeway and asked about the lack of dealers on the website. I was told to go to KeewayAmerica.com and... same thing. Nothing. Only the distribution center in Texas shows up. I'll keep checking The website until I loose interest I guess. I'm really liking that Sixties 300.
I wanted a new Royal Alloy 300 until I saw how hard it was to remove the variator cover. I'll pass after seeing that nonsense! Plus the no native storage under the seat. I use my scooters for main transportation and I like having the perks that I'm used to. Under seat storage, true step-thru (no PCX or ADV hump in the step-thru), fully automatic (I'm lazy) and good selection of quality accessories (windscreen a must) and the option for a rear rack for a top box. Being nice looking helps as well. My Buddy 125 comes very close to this want list. I would like a bit more power (don't we all) and the option to take my wife for a ride and not be cramped, though we rarely ride 2-up much anymore. I still love my Buddy and would keep it regardless. |

The one thing I like about the CF Moto Helix clone is the ease of maintenance. The lower plastic cover comes off and two bolts to take off the Variator cover, seat pops off with one bolt and there are the valve quicky adjuster bolts. Oil drain and filter easy access. If not for the stinky ten inch wheels I might be interested in finding a real Helix. Until then I have the 168.9cc Tiyen and CF Moto 250 for milk and egg runs with storage and generous top boxes. The motorcycles are go anywhere, do light carrying and have intense Japanese reliability. Which doesn't mean I won't pursue a Kymco XTown or SYM Citicom one day. |

Thanks for the update. I still can't believe he got acquitted of the charges. You should update the thread with this tidbit on the "other" forum that gave you grief.

Yet you read day after day, fuel pump failures, electrical gremlins, bad connections and assorted ills. Look at your Piaggio. It's their forum so I have to tread lightly and they know it. If I went off on their electrical fires, corrosion and bad shocks I would get banned. Even with quiet mention they acknowledge that a Yamaha SMax 155 is a suitable replacement for a GTS 300 at less than half the price. Your Buddy does as much as your Liberty did with fewer headaches and probably a longer life. It's their playground. They can have all the fun they want with it. Rant over. |
Oh, I know what you speak of. The problem with Piaggio scooters, especially the EFI/computer controlled one, is you need a very good dealer for support. You can't trouble shoot it yourself because of the specialty PADS diagnostic tool. I didn't have no local support, and I no longer liked my Piaggio scooter enough to lug it 100 miles one way for support. Hence why I went with a simple Genuine Buddy 125 now. Most Chinese scooters are still old school carb controlled, and as long as you stay on top of it you'll be fine most of the time.
I think I gave you grief before as well, and I'm sorry if I did in the past. I hated my Qlink Commuter so bad. Just so many problems that I donated it to a thrift store at 5000 miles. I might have just got a dud but it made me leery of Chinese scooters ever since. But if Keeway can get their act together I might be tempted to get the cool Sixties 300! Now onto the huge Honda Goldwing clone link you posted. My co-worked and I keep looking at the Honda Bagster with love and lust in our eyes! My parking spot is to narrow to put it in the garage at night so I think I'm safe from a naked Goldwing purchase! Plus, my wife still want to test ride a Can-Am Ryker. |

If anyone recalls I was offered a Bintelli Scorch 150 for pretty much cost, to help get the name out on the streets. My local dealer just started to carry the brand. I was tempted but ended up getting a Genuine Buddy 125. I bring this up because even though Bintelli is Chinese I see them on the road and they seem to not self destruct. But now:
Someone at my work has a new Bintelli Scorch, but a 50cc. The owner puts some good miles on it and they ride everyday. I've yet to meet this elusive person but they park next to my Buddy in motorcycle parking. I will say the Scorch looks much better than the Buddy. Oh, back to CFMoto/Qlink. The selling dealer, St. John's Karts in NC, is a super crappy. They don't care about the products they sell, and have lazy mechanics who do sloppy work. My whole Qlink experience is covered on the Burgman USA forum under the "A Qlink followed me home." thread. I'm shocked that crappy dealership is still in business. It (the dealership) must be a meth dealer money laundering front! A bad dealership can help make the owning experience that much more terrible should a problem arise. |

This guy in California bought a 50cc after losing his car and liked it so much he bought a 150. All with stimulus check money. He has learned service as he goes along starting out with no knowledge at all. It's his sole means of transportation. An Ice Bear, no less. https://www.youtube.com/@GY6-SCOOTER-VLOGS |

The insurance for ebikes and escooters debate. It'll get worse and spread to more states, trust me. I had an Apollo Ghost dual motor stand up escooter. That thing did 30mph so easy, and I never learned its top speed. I gave it to a co-worked and he modded it (Ludo kit?) and now it goes 45mph!
Both of us (myself and co-worker) have had of still have (me) ebikes that can go 35mph. Illegal for sure but we try to stay in the law, but it can be hard to resist a blast here and there. So far our police have a lax policy towards e-stuff as long as the operator shows a bit of respect and control, but it's quickly becoming the wild west in my city with all the Amazon cheap/fast e-products showing up on the streets. Another bad thing about ebikes. People with no powered 2-wheel experience can just hop on a e-product and ride, as most have throttles. That can good and bad. I see so many fools get on ebikes that can't control a regular analog bicycles. You can guess the results. |

I have a Lectric Xpedition with a passenger kit on the rear for my wife. She has a bum hip and is also not very confident on 2 wheels, so the Xpedition is our local runabout solution. It'll hit 26mph max but I keep it at 14mph max with her on the back, unless we have a clear and safe opening, then 26mph it is. Very fun and cheap to run. The police never give us any grief, even if we ride on the sidewalk. I do show full respect for people on the sidewalk as they have the right-away. I also have a modded Lectric XP 3.0 that rarely gets ridden now. That thing is fast but it eats the battery pretty quick. I stay at 2 amps for charging, easier on the battery but it takes around 7 hours to full charge!
And speaking of 2 wheels, I inquired about a 2024 SYM CityCom 300i today. They would have to order it or I might have impulse purchased it. I suspect out the door it would be more than a 2024 Kawasaki Eliminator, the 500cc model. I try to hype myself up but I can't live with a motorcycle. But I really like that new Eliminator! |
As the article says, it's not a top notch event but Kove is a Chinese company.

Did you notice Jess's snarky comment over there about me posting? I wonder who told him since I doubt he would lower himself to come to a forum he doesn't control on his own. |
Perhaps Jess's comments are a Vespa thing. If you still visit that site the current bicker point is KYMCO vs. Vespa. Poor OldScoot is caught up in that mess because he has both and voted KYMCO. If I had a good KYMCO dealer in my area I'd probably own a KYMCO myself. Great quality and easy to self service.
Before I forget, the Eliminator was marked down to $4999.00 for Memorial Day at my local Kawasaki dealer. I never made it to the dealership on Saturday so I guess the urge of a new bike isn't that strong for me. I was curious about the OTD price. I've never owned a Kawasaki product. Owned: Honda scooters and motorcycles. Suzuki scooters. Vespa, both vintage and modern. Lambretta scooters, obviously vintage. Yamaha scooters and motorcycles. Genuine scooters. SYM scooter. ADLY scooter. Hyosung scooter. Friend had a Hyosung motorcycle. Buell motorcycle. KYMCO scooter. Can-Am Spyder (wife had one, I did the service work) WAIT, my roommate purchased a very used Ninja 250 for $400. Needed top end work. We used to fight over that bike. Went forever on a tank of fuel and was crazy easy to ride. That was a truely great bike! Sure I'm forgetting some but if I did it's for a reason. The Buell was the worst. Heat made it terrible (not the later Rotax model) and it was all primitive. Never left me stranded though. |
It's funny but my main bikes stayed a long time with me. Despite my time I have a few worth mentioning and several short time and forgettable models.
Chief on that list is a 2005 Honda Big Ruckus. I can honestly tell you it felt heavier than my CF Moto Fashion and a lot slower. One day my late wife blew me into the weeds leaving the house on her 250 Rebel. She was shifting and I was twist and going. It wasn't even close. |
KTM automatic?? Between Honda DCT and electric clutch and this can it get any easier?
