Who's up for a ScootDawg get together
For next summer. :scoot: . :scoot: . :scoot: . :scoot:
If we get enough members that say..... Yes, We want one. :yay: It just might happen. We got all winter to plan one. |
I would be down for that
|
Cool here.

Great idea Wayne!
|
Have the Scoot BUMS from here in NC ready to go. :)
|
I'm down! Keep us posted!
|
Ok Guys, Here some things that need to be worked out.
1. Where is it to be held = What state and where. [ In all fairness to Mike, I think it should be held in ScootDawgs hometown - NY ] 2. What Month/Weekend. 3. Will there be any Sponsors. 4. Who'll step-up and help plan this. - I can't do it by my self. 5. Don't be afraid to throw some ideas/suggestions out there. Let the planning begin. :yay: |
New York is quite a trip for me personally, and I would prefer some slightly more southern but if not I will still make it. Before we set date we should set location, since weather is different in different areas.

EX: from TX, FL, and such, by the time they got to NY, they'd probably want to be done, at least for the day (being a 12hour+ ride). :wtf: 2. What Month/Weekend. >Maybe a long weekend in AUG or SEP? Not too hot for the bikes, not terrible for us. 3. Will there be any Sponsors. >If each state had a meeting place, then rode to the next state, to meet that group, maybe each group for settle for whatever Sponsors they can scare up? I run a PC shop and ISP, I'll see what I can come up with. :shrug2: 4. Who'll step-up and help plan this. - I can't do it by my self. >I have wanted to get one of these rides together for a long time, just never started it. I can handle some of the work, so if anyone has any ideas, send them my way! 5. Don't be afraid to throw some ideas/suggestions out there. >...Always appreciated... Hi
I would be willing to attend but i only have a 50cc scoot at the present so riding her between states would be a challenge and the further away the rally is from my home state could make it hard I guess i could take the Indian but then i wouldn't be on a proper scoot per se Take care and ride safely my friends Yours Hank |
gotta meet mid way, everyone ride to Lebanon Kansas on a scooter for the meetup!
It'll be fair for all (just as far from the east coast as from the west coast, as it is from the North as from the south border). |

I'm all for fairness but....
Lebanon City in Kansas Lebanon is a city in Smith County, Kansas, United States, in the north central part of the state. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 218. Wikipedia Area: 205 acres (83 ha) Population: 217 (2011) I guess our event would be the " big gig" of the year there. Better throw the dart again. Be Big, AMAC |
Something bigger around lebanon???
|
If its held in another state, Then we need someone from that state to help plan this.
No matter where its held, Its gonna be a long haul for some. |
Let's see who wants to go and where they live, seems like most of the group is east coast. Although lebanon area would be great for me
|
We are here in Bowling Green Ky. Kinda central. Pretty good place. Lot's of country roads, lot's of good places for eating and consuming beverages, plenty of lodging including 2 campgrounds, as well as the home of the Corvette, and close proximity to Mamoth Cave. Check it out! :)
|
@Sanmar: I have been to the Vette Museum, and went spelunking through Mammoth.
Great times. xD |
Awesome! It's a nice area.
|
I'm afraid Lebanon has a lot of sandy roads and dust paths, instead of asphalt.

Just an Idea for the ride
Been looking into places to ride, more than just the meeting spot.
I think meeting somewhere around TN might be best for most. South of Knoxville TN, is a town called Maryville, TN. I have been told that its a nice town, especially for bikers. Following US 129 takes you down and amazing trail that bikers come from every state to ride. Its called the Tail of The Dragon. 318 curves in 11 miles. Through the Smokey Mountains. At the end is a town called Robbinsville, NC. 60 miles of awesome. :scoot: If one might want to ride more than that, only another 90 miles and your in Asheville, NC. A great place to visit. Called Beer City for obvious reasons. http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/...onTailride.png |
Anyone have any input?... :(
|
roughly 9hundred something miles away from me...youtube vids looked like fun, unless you get stuck behind semi....
|
How many riders around your area, epyon?
|
It would be a 2 or 3 day trip for us. 818.3 mi, 12 hr 18 min driving.
Dee would get the sh*t beat out of her on that long of a ride. Her scoot is only 150cc and half the size of mine. :scoot: |
Ive only seen three riders in my area(Pasadena), not much of a scene here. But if I take a 20 mile scooter trip into some of the more metroish houston areas (downtown, midtown, heights), Its not that bad, scooters and mopeds are fairly common, along with a couple of dealers. There is a scooter club in Houston that ride a couple times a month, although I have not rode with them as of yet.
If the meetup was here in houston, Im sure there would be plenty of things we could do. Although Houston traffic is full of rude people who just dont give a hoot. cutting people off, not using blinkers. Maybe somewhere outside the city... |
Im afraid its not going to be much of a Scoot Dawg Rally if we don't have more people getting involved. :(
I am attempting to get a small hotel or B&B in the Asheville area to support us with a few rooms. So far, not much luck. :( |
Just back from spending 5 days in Asheville for a tennis tournament. Nice area, tons of things to do, lots of scoots around. Prob would try to trailer our scoots from here to ralley there. It's about a 6 hr drive from BG Ky.
|
I think its because we all live so far a part.
Nobody wants to travel a million miles, while some only travel ten feet to get there. :hehe: |
Its understandable, some scoots might not make the drive.. some people don't have the mney(like me), that's why we planning early right? Whoever is interested, we can do something.

If you could find a way to save $20 a week, by 50 weeks, youd have $1,000 to ride on. Plus, early plans allow mods and tweaks on your bike. If we were to leave next week, there would be no way id be ready either. |
Location is the number one issue when trying to put this sort of thing together.
It's not just finances for most its available time. If you have a small displacement scoot its tough to "ride"" it to an event that's not very close. Time, time time..... That said cant make everyone happy. One mans ceiling is another mans floor as we used to say in the city. It may be that we end up with a few get togethers scattered around the country. Personaly I have time so location east of the Mississippi works for me. Be Big, AMAC |
amac, very true post, indeed.
Would you be up to riding the Dragon? |

i would like to ride the dragon, but cant commit 100% right now.Having two jobs and a 2 year old makes it difficult to plan ahead
|
The Dragon would be a great place! Those with smaller scoots might want to trailer them, or use a hitch carrier, and just drive there. Also, open it up to all scooterists, and spread the word. It could become a huge rally.

In this great day and age of the internet, we could have several in various areas on the same weekend, and video chat from various locations at our rallies ....
Having multiple ones on the same weekend may be a logistics nightmare, but overall it would still be good for camaraderie. I'm in north east indiana, and I would be up for arranging things for this area should it be one of the places for a multiple rally weekend , should it go that route .. |
