Stock Jet Question

I'm going to buy a jet kit as suggested in another thread... BUT

My question is.. When I cleaned my Carb, my main jet is considerably longer than the ones i see in the pics from the online store. The one I have now does not come apart and it has a piece that extends into the hole with tiny holes on the side of it.

THe ones in the online pics look short...

Is there another piece I need to get to go along with the new jets?

I have a 50cc TaoTao VIP with the standard 18mm carb, w/electric choke and accelerator pump.

Perhaps you are confused. The long one piece jet is the pilot and the other is the main. It is short and threds into a longer brass fitting. You should see flat edges for a wrench and a slot on top of the main for flathead driver removal.

Yeah my carb didn't have the piece that the main jet threads into.. it's just one piece.. I replaced the idle jet as indicated in the pic... now that you mention I do still have the main jet from the rebuild kit but the main jet that's in there now is only one piece.. so what is the thing that the main jet screws into? I guess I will need to get a new one.

okay, so I figured out it was called the emulsion tube. It looks like it's one piece and I couldn't get it apart. I will try again this weekend but I hope it doesn't break cause I don't think you can get another one.

So you were right I took it apart again and after some forcing I was able to get the main jet off the emulsion tube. I could have sworn it was all one piece.. thanks.. now to the next problems..
