Are Genuine buddy and Roughhouse scooters registered as class "B" in NY ?

Ask a Scooter Dealer tell you that or call the DMV.

If you can determine just how fast the scooter's in question will go....your answer is below.
New York Moped and Scooter Classifications The New York DMV defines all mopeds and scooters as fitting into one of three separate classifications, based on the top speed of each vehicle. Each class comes with its own specific requirements and restrictions: Class A reaches top speeds between 30 and 40 MPH, requires a Class M or Class MJ license, and can operate in any traffic lane Class B reaches top speeds between 20 and 30 MPH, requires any class license, and can only operate in either the right-hand lane or along the shoulder Class C reaches top speeds of 20 MPH or less, requires any class license, and can only operate in either the right-hand lane or along the shoulder |
Thanks Guys;
I went through the hoops the last couple days, when I bought and registered a new Genuine Roughhouse. A couple things I learned, A) They wanted to see PGO on the title and B) They insisted that "top speed 30 miles per hour be printed on the title, directly below the gross weight figure. I have taken the Roughhouse from 2 miles to 35 miles and really like the scooter, but hope the hill climbing speed improves. I have not had it derestricted yet, but plan on doing that once I near the break in miles. |
