Help identifying part??
3 Attachment(s)
Hey everyone,
Hoping you guys can help me out identifying a part. It's essentually a puck that fits into the frame and a bolt goes through it. See attachments. two of the pics show one that is currently in the scooter and the other is the hole that the missing one goes into. The scoot is a chinese 3 wheel articulating scooter that is no longer sold and direct parts are not available. The mount thats missing is to attach the exhaust. This fell out, and as a result the exhaust bounced around and broke the weld on the exhaust pipe. Anyone have any clue as to what this "puck" is offically called so I can look into getting a replacement that would fit? Any and all help is much appreciated!! -Yellow |
You might need to make your own puck if original parts are not available. A good hardware store may be able to find something similar, and then you could trim it to fit.

Since I do not know if the hole is tapered or straight through, nor the diameter of the hole, all I did was to type rubber bushing/with hole, and this popped up.
https://www.google.com/search?q=rubb...w=1263&bih=853 Since it's articulating I'm guessing things need some twisty movement, thus the large diameter hole with a bolt through it, well that is how I'm supposing, anyway. Good luck in your search. Just know both sides of that diameter, and the metric size of the diameter of the bolt and how long it needs to be. The nut looks to be a type with a nylock insert maybe. |
Thanks Cheapeto! I found this site while seaching the images. http://www.suspension.com/universal-bushings.asp looks like a poly bushing. It even has a video on how to measure with calipers. I'm going to measure tomorrow and see if I can find it on this site. They seem to have a ton so I'm hopeful. Thanks again!

Had an idea today for a temporary solution yellowjacket. I was trimming some rubber floor mats today to fit my truck.
-You could cut several pieces out of a cheap rubber floor mat and sandwich them together. Poke a hole in them and put the bolt through them. |
Nice site yellowjacket, they should be able to fix you right up.

Looks to me like a regular motor mount bushing would do the trick. Measure the hole diameter, and width...order from any scooter parts place. Might add a larger washer to the nut side, to keep it from cutting into the bushing, as the one in the photo did.

Thanks everyone. The part came in from the website above, but it wasn't the right thing at all. They didn't even send me what I ordered. Ultimately I went to the hardware store and bought a rubber stopper and a machined dowel. I trimmed and drilled out the stopper and jammed it in there with a pair of pliers. I just got finished putting it all back together and it's holding nicely. Thanks again
