Yamaha Zuma
Frist off does any one on this MB have or has ridden a 2012/13 zuma?
Im looking at the zuma as a new to buy scooter, but would like any info from someone that has/ridden one. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/pr.../659/home.aspx http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ystJKS6AHmM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlubPC96nNg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIgDIsNvVXc |
Really?
NOT one Person// never ridden one/ seen one//went to the mall.. EFI/Water-Cooled O- all right I understand now, it does do 45-48Mph all day long in stock form (4T 3val/cyc).. NOW i know why you haven't seen one. Cant say i could keep up with my jonway Vip @ 45Mph for too long. Come on ' ladies ' <------- Get a friend that has a 12/13 zuma and hit the keyboard with you're review. |
I seen one never rode one but the older 2t have rode them and wish i had money to buy one, they where great scoots not sure about the newer 4t but with the specs i would have to say pretty fast
|
The new Zuma has the same drive train as my C3. 50cc water cooled, fuel injected 4T. 100+mpg.
I wouldn't expect 48 mph. 40-45 tops. If you like to tinker, there isn't much extra power to be found. There is a Zuma 125 as well, if you need more. It will however, be absolutely reliable. Will start immediately every time, never overheat or hiccup. You won't be disappointed. |
Thank's for the reply ascoda.
Seen a c3 last year.. man lots of space under the seat. If i get the Cash I'm really looking at the zuma as a new ride... we'll see. |
Yamaha makes a great bike. Are you looking at the 50's only?
$3500 worth of pretty Honda power... http://0.tqn.com/d/motorcycles/1/0/1...da-PCX-150.jpg |
Hi Larry
Relevant info http://www.motorscooterguide.net/Yam...S/ZumaBWS.html Take care and ride safely dear friend Yours Hank |
I'd like to buy one. They're kinda expensive and I'd be nervous it might get stolen. My work is moving next year and I think I'll see what the parking situation is first.
I see a few of them here around Boston, they look sweet. |
My first scoot was a 07 Zuma 125. It's a great little scoot that has a "go anywhere, do anything" attitude.
I even took it off road a few times just for the hell of it. I only had it for about a 1/2 year (had to upgrade due to a change in my job location - I commute on my scoot) but have nothing but praise for it. |

larrball - Are you referring to the Zuma 50cc or 125cc? If you are looking for a 50cc, I would get a used 2 stroke Zuma. They are just faster. The current Zuma 50 is a four stroke.

Help
Just bought a 2015 zuma 50 EFI,Has a 2 brothers pipe on it,At top end is sputters otherwise runs perfect any ideas. Thanks Terry
|
Welcome to the forum, Terry.
I don't know anything about the Zuma, but... Is the 2 Brothers pipe a performance exhaust.? Perhaps the EFI can't keep up with it at speed ... on a carbureted bike, you could re-jet. Maybe try a stock pipe and compare.? |
Try resetting the ECU as per the owners manual process. Every time I dug into my Zuma 125 I had to reset the ECU afterwards. A friend has a Zuma 50 4 stroke and I think he has a Two Brothers on his. Runs fine but didnt really bring on much more power. He bought it more for the tone and looks.
