Engine model confusion?
Ok so on my scoots manual booklet, it says i have a 152QMJ but on the bottom of my scoot as i was tinkering today, i noticed it says that i have a 157QMJ, what gives? i think im going with what the scoots says instead of the booklet, could be a type-o ?? or maybe my scoot dealer gave me the wrong manual? :ugh:

welcome to the world of disinformation. A lot of the time, the manufacture plate on the scooter will reflect wrong engine type, or size, or horsepower if listed, much like the specs on various websites that never agree on top speed, load ratings, hp, fuel tank size. It's been pretty much agreed that chino-builders put whatever piece/part is currently on the shelf into the mix. This also extends to belt sizes, tires, speedometers (kph vs mph), and so on. And most especially, the manuals are so generic that they can border on useless. In the toss, I would go with the tag on the scooter, but even that is a guess.

Researching my engine# 157QMJ is a 150cc-really a 152cc and almost 9 hp. It enables my trike 426#' so cruise 48-52mph and top out at 55mph. Some of these trike guys can get 58-60mph on flats
