Don't laugh, it worked. (Tire changing)
Decided to try changing my own tire. Bought a couple of cheap tire irons from harbor freight. Got annoyed because whenever i tried to pry the rim down, it would pop up somewhere else.
Ended up putting down a zip-tie whenever I managed to get the tire over the lip. Hey, it worked. http://i.imgur.com/i1BZMs4.jpg |
lol If it works, who cares who laughs.

Another win for zip ties!

Looks good to me...I had a tire changed and the Honda shop almost destroyed the wheel not using the correct pads for the arms. They marked the new wheel pretty bad, so your method looks great. Enjoy your ride....

You've just invented Traction cleats.:)
Whatever works. |
I've had problems with tires before, but never thought of using zip ties...
Nice!!! http://www.smileyvault.com/albums/st...acter00260.gif |
you did good, a good bead break technique is to use a piece of 2x6 a few feet long or so, or more. set it like a ramp just on the tire (meaning not on the rim) and drive a car up just until the bead releases and repeat for the other side. completely frustration free.
