Wondering what size ice cooler you carry on your scooters for a camping Trip.
I just ordered a Coleman 12"hx9.5"dx 13.75 w.soft sided with a hard plastic removable tub. 30 can cooler without the tub. Use for one person on Road trip/ camping 3-5 days.

In the past, I've taken a couple of the soft side coolers like that and interlaced the straps so that they made a saddlebag setup. That way it leaves space on the passenger seat for tent and sleeping gear.. Hope that helps...

On my smack I think I can put cooler in front of top case cooler on seat with sleeping bag on top then put clothes in front of cooler on seat with sleeping pad on cloths. In saddlebags one side one canister of gas ,tire sealant ect other side saddle something around the same weight. Under seat tools & toiletries.

Does this sound like too much? Should be a total weight of 65 lbs.
Still 60 lbs less than my total weight allowed.

Should be fine, weightwise. Just remember that if you haven't ridden loaded this way before, that you will need to get the feel for the handling of the scoot with the weight above the center of the scooter. If you have ridden with passengers on before, it's kind of the same thing. More ungainly at low speeds, careful in the turns. Also, just for some good reading, do a google search on "scamping", and especially on "loosegrit scamping". He has much experience in this area...
Ahh, here is an old scamping report from him:

I think I'll have 6lb of cloths in top case,water-food in cooler 10lb, saddlebags my 5 LB each side , under seat tools & misc 11 lbs.. With the cooler-sleepingbag -pad on the seat. On seat weight should be 25 lbs.
Will keep heavier things as low seat level as possible. My weight plus all things I'm taking on my scamping trip should be around 260 lbs, still 70 lbs under RGW. Oh I'm going to try Hammock camping.

Looks like a good time shaping up. I've considered a hammock, but we are a little tree challenged here in the Mojave. Mostly I go to National parks and where there are trees, they frown on you attaching anything to them, so air mats for me. Looking forward to hearing about your trip..
