Over torquing variator
I changed the belt and sliders on a 50cc Milano. I peg out at max speed but the take off is incredibly slow. Could this be due to over torquing the variator?

Varo weights:
Lighter weights = fast accl, lower top speed Heavier weights = higher top speed, slower take off |
+1 Techie.
Your weights are too heavy. Usually we reduce the weight of the rollers on 50cc's to get better acceleration. No, if you variator is over-tightened, the only problem you will have is it's going to be difficult to remove the variator lock nut next time. The crankshaft has a shoulder machined onto it, preventing this sort of thing. Try 6 g weights or 7g sliders |
Thanks for the input.
