Long story short.....

Without going into to much boring detail....I'm wondering if converting to a trike conversion might be an answer.

For those of you on 3 wheels instead of 2...what were your biggest challenges? What things did you need to relearn?

I'm debating if this is for me or not.

Dont lean into turns! That right there kills a trike for me

cheapeto 02-28-2014 09:22 AM

For me, the Elio Motor trike is the only trike I'd consider.Heck it's still only a prototype, but that's the one for me.

Oh, believe me, I do give it the throttle.
I guess I should have clarified, "I" lean, the scoot doesn't.
And, I don't have a wife, so I pretty much do what the checkbook allows.
(hell, does anyone still use a checkbook?)
(Not afraid to push myself, Went to sledge hockey practice this morning and archery this afternoon. Swim meet next week, all wounded warrier related. )

Can't wait tell we get more than one day of good weather.

Ride safe

Dave

Hey houndguy,
[I won't lie, I've seen this and actually am considering it]

As I ride my scooter around, I stay off the super slabs myself, I'm a back road junkie. All those back road miles the one constant I see, tons of discarded stuff!!
I started to make note of where I see *stuff* poking out of weeds, or just dumped off the back of a truck.
I take my PU back to that place load it up and I'm buying my Elio with scrap metal I scrounge up.
I've put the word out with fam and friends, if you see junk metal, I got a place for it!!
Some donkey butt humanoid had one of the expensive truck bed covers with the slates of aluminum and I guess it did not work for them anymore, the side rails and slates was pitched in the weeds where we do some winter trout fishing at, right where folks park at!!
I loaded it up, took it home, disassembled it, steel from aluminum, and plastic bits it had on it, it came out to about 75 pounds of aluminum!! A few pounds of steel bearings and what not.
I know it's foolish, but krikeys, the Elio is only $6800.00 , my Big Ruckus sold new for $5,000.00! Then they ran up to about $7,000.00 loaded up.
That's my plan anyway.
Sorry for getting off topic.

I love the dual wheels in front!!! I'd get one of those Sunny's, except for the fact that the front ends aren't designed strong enough for the abuse the struts take...

What a nice sweet Can Am you have, Inuy!!!

Irish 12-21-2014 11:40 AM

I guess that I'm "old school". I've been riding since '59/'60 & two wheels in front are just not a motorcycle or scooter to me! I'm not knocking them-to each their own. Irish
