not interchangeable. May I ask how you broke yours? They usually do not break, and are you shure it is the screw and not what it screws into?

raygun04 03-31-2013 11:16 PM

while tightening it and the adjuster screw itself broke in half <.<;;;

I don't see just the screw but here is the whole assembly

http://www.partsforscooters.com/164-...ategory=133356

I assume its that screw and not another. Not sure how that would break...

raygun04 04-01-2013 12:43 AM

yeah it looks exactly like the adjuster screws I have Thanks.. I cant beleive I broke it...I wasnt even going for like crazy tight or anything but I guess I broke it in half...I'm not so good at doing the valves anyways... I think I keep doing them to loose cause I can always here the ticking or tapping when I get the cover back on and start her up though...

scootnwinn 04-01-2013 12:49 AM

a little clicking is ok when the bike is cold. It should lessen as it warms

raygun04 04-01-2013 11:35 AM

how much is to much then? lol it never did that before but then again i think the valves were fully closed before I started messing around in there... I just dont wanna break anything... I thought if there was clicking or tapping or w.e that they were to far open..

scootnwinn 04-01-2013 12:57 PM

The gap is there to allow for the expansion of the metal as it heats up. So the .004 gap should click initially. If it doesn't click you will have compression issues...

raygun04 04-01-2013 01:26 PM

ahh ok so I shouldov prolly waited like 5 minutes to see how it was then?

scootnwinn 04-01-2013 01:34 PM

yes listen for tapping after it is fully warm it should not tap much once warm. Some people like them to just slightly click so they no they are certainly not tight

raygun04 04-01-2013 10:13 PM

ohhhhhhhh ok thanks for clearing that up for me... now hopefully on wensday I can do it right lol..could I ask you if you had to get to the air/fuel mixture screw on the carb.. but it was covered how would you go about getting into that? thanks for all the help by the way! I dont know where Id be without scootdawg ^.^

scootnwinn 04-01-2013 10:45 PM

Some people drill the cap out sometimes they find a screw underneath sometimes its been altered to make it hard to adjust even uncapped. You may think about a new carb they are pretty cheap and might make life a lot easier...

raygun04 04-03-2013 09:49 AM

ohhh I am sorta hoping for there to be a screw there cause I was reading on the old ScootDawg n someone else who had my scooter drilled theres out and was able to adjust it that way but Ill be finally attempting that and finnishing the valves today so wish me luck and thanks for the help once again :P
