I need help identifying a scooter

1 Attachment(s)
I have a guy that wants to sell me a 2011 Daix Scooter that he claims is a 450cc. Since I can't find any info on a scooter with a motor that large I am skeptical. I have attached a picture. Any assistance from the scooter experts would be appreciated.

:thanks:

Doesn't the registration and/or title have manufacturers info, model number, and such. There must be a data plate attached to the machine somewhere too.

More research is needed, and if you truly can't find anything......you'll be in big trouble when you need a replacement part.

Daix and Daixi seem to be producers of the Ice Bear line. A net search occasionally list a 450cc, but mostly on Asian sites. Hopefully some Ice Bear owners will have some info on this..

I'd be skeptical too. It looks like a trike kitted Yamaha Morphous clone. The
Morphous is only a 250.

The only Chinese scooter I have ever known of that looks like this is the
300cc ICE BEAR seen here in this youtube video.

I believe that is what the guy is trying to sell to you. I don't think anybody
is making or ever has made a 450cc scooter... 400cc, 500cc, 600cc, 700cc
yes, but no 450cc anywhere. Can't find much about the scooter beyond that
video.

This is what I found
Huzhou Daixi Zhenhua Corporation
Their website is incomplete
http://www.zhenghuagm.com/

AND

http://www.ecvv.com/company/ivy_han/profile.html
Which is different apparently than the corporation listed above it.
Odd, but it might be an associated arm of the same company. Who
knows with global trade.

If it were me, a scarce china scoot would not be something I would
consider. Maybe one that is more common with the issues known and
parts relatively easy to procure or even a Japanese bike. This scoot
might be offered for cheap, but you might be stuck with a garage
queen/lawn ornament if you can't find parts to fix it when the inevitable
happens. just sayin.

I even wonder how difficult it might be to get ICE BEAR parts.
Maybe others here could tell you about that.

Well, the Florida title says 450cc. I doubt they would make that mistake (lol)

Somebody made a mistake. The only Chinese scooter engine bigger than 300cc, right now, is the St. Moritz 400cc. They are correct. That is a 300cc Trike. Actually a 375cc Linhai engine is in it.

I think somebody messed up somewhere... BUT! even if that is correct, where are you going to find parts?

If it were me, I'd pass on this one in favor of something less mysterious.
