Variator nut removal

Just curioous of how yall remove that nut. I have an npact wrench, but spins it wondering about a safe way to brace the variator without damgeing it.

I've always just held the variator with my left hand, a couple of bumps with the air wrench, and the nut spins off. I might add that I have never found it necessary to have my 1/2" gun in the high setting to remove the nut.....and certainly would use that setting when installing it.

Be sure you get that nut back on there tight after removing... I thought I had it on there good and the variator spun off the shaft and ate into my housing :(
