Keeping Postings Up

It seems to me the postings here vanish way too fast, couldn't we keep them up for longer than a day? :hmm:

Admin 02-17-2013 07:33 PM

Vanish? What exactly do you mean.. ?

taz001 02-17-2013 08:31 PM

user cp settings

settings & options
edit options
display options
default thread age cutoff

: set it for more than a day. That is the problem(maybe).

I think he means in 'newest thread'?

I see sometimes it removes new posts even if I did not read them yet.

Ok thanks, I'll check. Update: Ok I reset it hope it works. Maybe what I'm saying is the default setting should be longer.

Are you looking for a direct page to bookmark?

No It's just that I'd see stuff on here and a day later (on less ) it had vanished. not like the old site where the postings seem to stay up longer. (still trying to feel my way around)

Hmm yea it must be a setting in your User CP. Default is longer than a day though, so I dont know why it would be cutting them off that short.. weird.

Hey spandi.

Try this go to "user cp" under "settings and options".
Click "edit options".

Under "thread display options"
Click "default thread options"
Set to 2-days and that should work.

Default Thread Age Cut Off: You may specify a time period from which to display threads.

Threads older than the age you specify will not be shown.

I have mine set to show all posts.

Thanks guys, but I'm still having difficulties, I went and reset it to see threads from the last ten days, but still I get only threads from today and thats it.

Admin 02-18-2013 01:32 PM

Spandi, is this in any forum (when you click on a particular forum), or are you clicking 'new posts' or 'today's posts'?

spandi 02-18-2013 02:50 PM

I've got this set in my "Top Sites" main page, to my knowledge it's not set to exclude any postings. When I went to it last night there were no postings at all, and it said at the bottom of the page something like "no new posting in the last 24 hours". I already reset it (or tried to) to show at least ten postings going back about a week but so far no soap.
