Reason for being a newbie here and starting this wonderful little thread is that I'm buying a scooter. (of course I am!!! only reason to come here right? ;p) anywhooo... whats everyone's opinion on a taotao evo150cc? I heard they're alot of minor maintenance but I'm still interested. what kinda scooter does everyone else own? any recommendations?!

wow you guys are great =] umm the scooter can come from multiple places. all via online. I've never sat on a scooter before in my entire life, and i just got my motorcycle permit... but i really want this particular scooter. according to everyone that replied, it isnt half bad :D

I'd recommend the Powermax 150. Less nice looking, but I presume it's going to be easier on maintenance than the EVO150.
There are not many dealers that want to work on chinese scooters. So my suggestion is to either get a complex scooter with dealer support (meaning maintenance, repairs, etc), or get a cheap, easy, simple scoot that you can work on yourself. If you get a complex bike, with lots of extra options, a lot can go wrong, and repairs generally are more of a pain. |
