Back in the 1970s, a lot of 2 stroke motocross racers were running on alcohol mixed with oil. (Probably to allow them to run a higher compression ratio). They probably drained the fuel after the race day.Smelled terrible when they passed by.

Great find there KZ...and I think there are more people in the 'don't know this' group, than in the 'already know this'. Probably the route cause of 50%, of the "Help Me" threads found here or on any other forum that deals with small engines.

The $.50 to $.60 cost difference to fill the scooter with real gas, is well worth it in my book. In June of 2012, I re-jetted my carb, when I removed air box, and installed a K&N filter. That was the last time I touched it, for any reason. Since then it has set, hibernating though two winters, and logged over 5300 miles, problem free.....Always have burned non ethanol gas...pumped through a dedicated hose.
