Help! Check out my cylinder head... wont start

Hey guys,

It's been awhile since I've posted...so far back, that it was the other forum.
I have two scoots and a couple of big bikes - one of my scoots, however, is just giving me the worst.

2007? baja sc150- generic chinese gy6 -1700miles

I began to have major issues with the valves, and a warning sign was raised when i had to adjust them every couple hundred miles. Well, every couple of hundred went to every single ride. I've heard the metal on these guys is sometimes poor...

Then, after paining this for awhile, the valve adjustment had 0 give on the intake side and will not start.

The thread i posted about this years ago, everyone told me to just replace the head- I want to make sure this is my issue - here's a picture of the inside of the current head I just took off this morning.

The fuzz on the r valve is paper towel from trying to scrub it.

Take a look- any advice is welcome.

You have a lot of carbon, which is most likely caused by bad rings.

Carbon can accumulate if you are running to rich, but your carbon is very extreme, and indicative of burning oil.

Thanks so much. I did try to reassemble and check compression- it seemed to be extremely low. Would rings be the first go-to?

Yes, usually. But dead rings mean you will to ridge-ream your cylinder (jug). I'd get an upper-end rebuild kit, it's easier and cheaper than paying to have your current jug reamed at a machine shop.

You cannot reassemble without a new head gasket, even if the old one looks fine, once the head comes off, it's toast.

Still doesn't quite explain the intake valve and seat, by the picture it looks like the valve seat is gone.
As if it had been run without an air filter at all.
am i not seeing this correctly?
