Kymco electrical cognoscenti needed
 

Howdy,
I am trying to resuscitate a Kymco Sento 50, and have a few questions about the wiring.
There is a switch in the seat latch to the rotary switch through the green / red wire. When the seat is latched, the power from the battery through the red wire is interrupted, and when the seat is unlatched, the power goes to the rotary switch. Is that the key switch?
This seems backward. Does anyone know what the seat switch controls?
