Without a Big-Bore-Kit and appropriate camshaft, the 30mm flat-slide carb is FAR TOO RICH.
As for complexity, it is no more or less complex than a stock carb.
As for performance gains, there are none, in fact, without a BBK you'll GREATLY loose power and acceleration.
More gas does not equal more power. Optimum power comes from carefully balancing the carburetion to what your bike's engine considers optimum.
For a stock 157qmj or 1p57, that usually equates to a 24mm carb with a main jet #110 to #125 depending on MANY factors such as altitude, humidity, air temperature, type of air filter ect.
