Well, maybe it is different with some Chinese bikes, but the usual thing is as I stated... You could check it against a known measure of miles via GPS or mile markers on a highway. It would need to be a long enough ride to determine the actual difference (if any) to be sure...The more miles ridden that way would give more accurate results. But then it may not really matter that much to you anyway since it would probably be off only by a small percentage. (but maybe as high as 7%)
