Yes, there is a noticeable difference between the stopping power on the drum Nighthawk and the disc on the Rebels. I absolutely have to use the front and rear brake on the Hawk to get the most stopping power. The Rebel can be stopped effectively with just the front. I don't understand why they didn't put a disc on the Nighthawk. For an entry level rider it could be the difference between stopping and crashing in an accident.

Plus the Nighthawk feels quicker and could use the added stopping power.
