Stock muffler to shorty

Hey all, so i was tired of my stock muffler so I tried to modify a couple months ago, and things did not go so well. I have been riding open pipe for a while and finally this week I got off my butt and got to work on my shorty build.
Using a grinder with a cutting disks, we took cut the muffler in half removed the muffler end.

We ditched the muffler side and opted to modify the cat to create the new shorty. the hardest part of this build was drilling out the metal folded inside this pipe(is it titanium?)

here is the somewhat tacky inlet side before welding. My buddy provided me with plenty of mesh and screen of different sizes to help muffle the sound.

With the pipe shortened, we used the fiberglass insulation and the metal liner, along with all the mesh my friend provided with me. the pipe in the center is the cat thingy after we drilled it out.

Here is a pic of how it looked after the welding

bolted up in my room to see if everything lined up. i opted not to reuse the aluminum shield because mine was pretty beat up. I put a layer of gloss black to cover up the rust. also i did reuse the chrome endcap to add some contrast.

Here it is after mounting, but before i put on the bracket, it sounds only slightly louder than stock and im pretty happy with it
