Weird Electrical Problem

I am hoping someone can tell me what I have done. Have a 175 cc Eagle? scooter that has a strange issue. I was coming up to a stop sign out her in a rural area and I turned the motor off (with the key)and coasted the remaining 10 to 15 feet to the stop sign.
Went to start the scooter to take off again and no electric start anymore. Hit the starter button and nothing! Had to kick start the bike to get back home. Checked the fuse to the battery and it is fine, is there another fuse somewhere that I have blown?
Seems there has to be a connection to what I did and not just a coincidental parts failure! Would appreciate any input on what perhaps took place.
Gosh I hate electrical problems! Hoping some scooter genius can tell me what I have done!

Generally if you can kick start the scooter it's a brake switch problem. Try squeezing both brakes and see if it works. The easier check is to squeeze the brake levers and see if the tail light glows.
