vip future champion build

Hey guys,
i have a 2014 vip future champion, i bought it about 9 months ago used from a local rental place. Its served me well with no issues until recently, when i start it, it idles and then shuts off. I can ride it fine but when i come to a stop it dies. As ive been reading im thinking this is a carburetor issue but any advice would be great.

My real question is i am planning on doing a compkete overhaul and am wondering where to start? I was thinking the carburetor as i am having issues but was also thinking of a bbk. Of course a new exhaust and intake are a must, but all input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Since it appears fuel related, start with your gas, gas tank, petcock then carb.

Adjust your valves. That is the most common reason for these to run poorly.
