Interesting! But I think it might have a lot more to do with this "Tack on $37 in fees and you're ready to ride." than anything else. Especially considering how broke governments are.

I wonder how they'll deal with all the stuff that comes down the pike as technology advances. I see Electric bicycles all over the place. As battery technology and newer motors advance the DMVs will have a whole group of issues to deal with. I saw a video of a man being stopped on recumbent bicycle powered mini car. The owner could do close to 30 mph on a level road and the Police Officer who stopped him was pretty ticked that he had no recourse in its lack of lights or other safety devices.

The TX DMV finally allowed the Polaris Slingshot to be tagged and sold here. Good news for a change.
