Hey everyone, I'm thinking it would be really great to have a nice organized database full of Scooter & Scooter Parts Reviews. Each review would be on it's own page (not a post/thread) much like the Engine Displacement Calculator is. We'd have a section for scooters themselves, and for aftermarket parts.
So basically we'd be looking for unbiased, well-written (typos and such are no big deal, all that can be edited/fixed by us), lengthy reviews (not something that's going to be a few sentences) complete with pictures. Honesty is a must.. the good along with any bad should be included. Some of the things that should be covered in the story (depending on if it's a scooter review or a parts review) are things like quality/craftsmanship/attention to detail, performance/ease of use, ease of installation, shipping, reliability, price/value, etc. And finally you'd rate each category on a scale of 1-5 (5 being best): 1) Performance 2) Quality 3) Ease of Installation (parts only) 4) Value So if anyone's interested, please Private Message me and let me know what review you will be doing beforehand. I'll also update this thread with a 'sample review' so you can get an idea of what to do. I think this would really be a great addition to the site, and something that will eventually bring people to the forum. So if you want to be a writer and have stuff you'd like to review, get intouch with me! Thanks guys! |

Thanks guys!
Actually I was thinking, I think I'm going to make a forum for it open to everyone, and then certain reviews will be chosen to be on their own page, like mentioned earlier. I'll keep ya updated! |

Alright, I found this review on a truck forum, and I think it's a good example. You definitely don't have to make it just like this, it's just a sample..
Quote:
The next few paragraphs talk about the quality and craftsmanship, installation, and function. The last paragraph talks about their overall view of the product, a recap of the good points and bad points, the price and value, and then also gives the contact information of the company that produces the product. Again, this is just to give you an idea.. it doesn't have to follow this to a "T", but it gives a basic idea for those who don't know where to start. And then at the end you could rate it on the 4 categories, example: 1) Performance: 3 2) Quality: 5 3) Ease of Installation (parts only): 2 4) Value: 5 Feel free to start using it guys, and thanks! I've modified the Member Reviews section so that the first post of a thread (the review itself) is a bit different, so it looks unlike a 'normal' post and more like an actual article that's been written. It will also be displayed at the top of every page of that particular thread (if it has multiple pages of replies). Check it out when ya get a chance.
An example, written by dudley: http://www.scootdawg.net/showthread.php?t=52882 And again, feel free to start adding your reviews! Thanks guys. |
