Kymco or Zuma

Hi everyone i know this is comparing apples to oranges but i have a chance to pick up either a 04 zuma 50 2t with technigas pipe or a stock kymco super 8 150 both are the same price. My question is what are the downfalls of each? How reliable are the two? Im just trying to decide which scooter i will like for long road trips. The kymco 150 in stock form from what i read will do 60 mph and the zuma im guessing 40mph or so...also im a heavy rider 250 pounds? All opinions welcome im just looking for a bike to get me around town while i build my ruckus. zuma is 04 model in perfect shape and kymco is 2010 model i believe in perfect shape.

Given your size and wanting to go on longer trips, there is no substitute for horsepower. I think you'd be happier with the 150 Kymco.

LoL im not sure i never asked on the spree well so far i got one vote on the kymco!

I rode a super8 for two years. 57 top speed under perfect conditions. Top cruising speed was about 53. Around here most roads are 55, so I rode it hard. At 5500 miles the cam chain broke and shredded the motor. Not a quality issue, just one of those things.
Between the time I bought it and when it broke the neighborhood shop quit working on " Chinese bikes". Next shop was too far away for convenience sake so I sold it.
If I had a shop near by I would still have it.
Regular maintenance is simple. Valve adjustments take 25 minutes.

For a person your size i would go with the kymco..Iam 240 myself so size and horse power is what i would go with..

Go 4-stroke if you're looking for reliability. The Kymco is the logical choice.

With that said my vote is for the Zuma

my vote would be the Zuma.....bullet-proof 2T engine...no messy oil changes..no waste oil disposal worries....no monthly valve adjustments...easier resale (telephone always rings on zuma's for sale)

It all depends how many miles you pile on in a month I quess.
