Electric Start?

I'm new to the forum and I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction on a 50cc scooter problem i have? I just bought a (2008 Kinroad Handsome) used so I can park my gas hog car every chance I get. It cranked and ran good just no acceleration (think Fred Flintstone) so i had a 100cc big bore put on it (dealer recommended) now the electric start won't work at all,no turning over no clicking noise, just silence. Any thought as to why? It worked before the install & It kick starts fine but i'd love to use electric start like I use to. The shop said it was a ghost in the wiring, I guess he means a short in the circuit if there is any advice you can give me or troubleshooting test i'd appreciate it so very much thanks.

Test your battery first to make sure it's charged and stays that way. Could also be a loose connection somewhere. Check all the starter related wiring and switch.

if its not making any sounds start from the solenoid and work your way back, touch the 2 terminals together with a screwdriver on top of the solenoid, if that works then you have to test the starter switch wire running to it (red and yellow), if no power its the killswitch or starter switch, or maybe youre forgetting to hold the brakes, could be a brake censor not working, does your brake light come on when you hold the brake?
