Broken odometer/speedometer cable.

I bought a TaoTao Roman 150cc Scootet about a month ago. (The one that looks like a Vespa). The speedometer cable is already broken. How difficult is it to replace? Are replacement parts for the 150cc Chinese scooters pretty much universal? I had only had it 3 weeks when the speedometer quit working... damn.

Are you sure the cable is broken? Is it securely attached at the speedo head, and to the puck on the front wheel? Is the puck positioned correctly, and is the axle nut tight?

Just a few other things that would cause your speedo to fail so quickly.

You will probably want to bookmark this page dude. I found it useful for my Chinese Scooter

http://www.powersportsmax.com/index_...ID/3/cPath/307

That link will take you to cables. I have not had the issue you have "yet" but they have been reliable on parts and delivery. Usually 3-5 days from California. There are some scooter dealers out of Houston I have seen on here
