After stripping off some of the extra weight, box and rear rack.
Lowered it by about 1 1/2 with 280mm air shocks (Chinese at 59 bucks) so my daughter can flat foot it. Added some chrome bits from an EBay package deal and a few PR parts. Idle was a little unstable due to California regulations and the A/F adjustment being blanked off. Rather than drilling the plug, just bought a 24mm carb for 20 bucks, jetted it up a bit and idles fine now. |

The stock exhaust was terribly restrictive. A 10mm peashooter with a pinky sized header pipe.
Ordered a Nibbi racing exhaust with a 23 mm header pipe and silencer ID. 99 bucks. Very nicely made, robotic welding but not even close on the fit. No add on looking muffler clamps, but a well designed and all welded brace. Rather than send it back, I cut the header flange and header pipe to muffler weld. Managed to get the angles right and welded it up. Cut the mounting grommets and moved them in a bit. Drilled and tapped one mounting hole and welded a bracket to the muffler for the existing trailing arm mount. Lowered the muffler angle down a lot. Nice lower note now and definitely effected the power band. Not overly loud. Last edited by LorenStump; 12-19-2016 at 04:44 AM. |

This was the attitude of the stock Nibbi exhaust. Angle of the pipe was too high and came in at the frame interfering with the shock, caliper and body panel.

Installed a cheap Chinese head unit and speakers. Fit nicely into the dash panel.
FM, SD, USB, IPod and Bluetooth for 20 bucks with speakers (and free shipping), how is that even possible? Never mind, I know how. Installed the speakers inside the cowl, can still hear it while riding. |

Of course there's always a debate on whether or not an oil cooler is necessary or even a good idea.
Living in Sacramento which commonly sees heat into the 100s plus the fact I found this kit for 85 bucks made me go for it. Sweet and easy install, seems to be well made and complete. I did need to substitute a little longer mounting bolts as the main frame tube was a larger diameter (maybe) than standard. Braided stainless oil lines of very nice quality as were the banjos. Lines were long enough to run across the engine case to avoid the exhaust, thru the body and up to attach to the main frame tube. |
