YY250T-2 Tail light mounts?
Hello,
I recently purchased a 2008 Jonway TT250-T-2. It's design is similar to the TT-150T (Honda Foresight clone). Sometimes it can be tricky to find parts and info due to most of the information is aimed at the TT250T and not the T-2. With that said, I cant understand how the tail lights originally were mounted. In the picture you can see 1 mounting points for a screw but does anyone have an idea on how the 4 other holes mounted to the plastic behind the lights? Maybe it was riveted? The wholes are too large for a screw. Thanks in advance! |

I was thinking that the metal mount looks like a casting that might have had Tinnerman nuts which look more like the lower photo slipped over the big holes. That way the manufacturer does not have to drill and tap the casting and the Tinnerman can move around a bit so alignment does not have to be very precise . Then typically they screw into the Tinnerman nut from the opposite side in your photo with a screw that has a large diameter head to spread the forces so the plastic will not crack. The type of Tinnerman in the lower photo has a shoulder that slips into the plastic part and prevents you from over tightening since you can only tighten to that shoulder.
Your photo seems to show a Tinnerman nut attached to the plastic and the screw goes in from the casting side. |

Thanks for the link. It helped me find this on here that shows the 4 bolts for the lights that i'm missing. Never thought a nut and bolt would be there. The holes are at least half an inch in size. http://www.roketa.com/product/produc...=0&proID=39217
