Scoot won't start - Auto choke?
Hello Dawgs
I'm a long time member ( old site) and I wanted to get some advice Recently my scooter became hard to start. Now it wont start at all. It turns over but won't fire at all Here is what I have done Checked valves, spark, compression, fuel supply.... All fine When I pulled the auto choke and turned on the key, nothing happened. I thought the small pin was supposed to move in or out. Also, thought I would replace the rubber intake between the carb and the engine. Any thought or ideas? Do you think I'm on the right track with the auto choke? It seems strange that I have spark, but it won't even fire or try to start, it just turns over an over with nothing |

spray a little starting fluid in the intake. if it fires it's a fuel problem. if it doesn't check your cam timing and replace the plug (sometimes they leak only when installed). Is your air filter clean? Bad gas perhaps?

To test the enricher (auto choke) you need the scoot running, take out enricher place thumb over hole, start scoot, if its working within 3 to 5 minutes the needle will come out, the other way is hooking it up to a battery, turning key on won't work.
If the valves are good, (how was the scoot run when started. |

I'm having the same issue, it runs great once it's running and starting fluid usually does the trick. I've already put a new carb on it (w/auto choke) and now I'm thinking of replacing the fuel pump. Thoughts?
