hi.
This issue is usually caused by your float being out of adjustment...it may be getting stuck open causing the gas to over fill the bowl and leaking out to the air filter |

there you go... if you are still running the stock carb you might find it a bit hard to re adjust the float since many come with sealed bowls... to can drill and tap the screws but some times is a little difficult... may be is time for an upgraded carb

Yea the pollution stuff is useless and should be disconnected anyway because it usually causes problems. You might also take your exhaust off and see if it has a restriction or cat in the flange that you can grind out.
Just make sure you plugged the holes where the tubes were disconnected. |

there was a pipe going into exhaust.took it off and welded over it.starts up great now
