50cc scooter recommendations

My boyfriend is looking to get a 50cc scooter and I'm looking for recommendations. We're both complete scooter newbies. He's been using a bike for commuting until now. His budget is under $2000, and he's looking for something that will last at least a few years - not something cheap like a Tao Tao. He'll be using it to commute around the city, so off-road capability isn't necessary.

What do you recommend? The Kymco Agility 50 and Genuine Venture 50 both look pretty good.
