Crying Replaced stator and now lights won't stay on

Good evening. I need some help from y'all. Last year my scooter stopped running over the summer and i just put it up before i left to go back to college for the fall. I've come back and did some trouble shooting with CDI and ignition coil and concluded the stator was bad. I ordered one with the same number of poles off ebay, installed it, got scooter running, went through general tune up and is mechanically back to where she was. How ever the lights will not stay on, when i start the scooter(kick start) the lights come on for around for 5 seconds fade out and wont come back on. if i unplug the charging wires from stator and reconnect it while running the lights will come on for a couple of seconds. Any ideas on whats going on? I swapped the rectifier with a known working one and there was no change in the lights. Oh and I have a TaoTao 50cc scooter

Gimpdog I just swapped ignition coil and CDI with known working stock ones, no change :/ The stator that came off had 8 poles with 2 "wrapped" poles and a large plug. The one i put on was 8 poles with 1 wrapped, and the wires were a smaller gauge with a smaller plug, i spliced the old plug onto the new stator for it to work. could i have a stator that isnt giving enough power?

So i tried a stator that looked exactly like the one I took off and light system is now working i guess that it is always important to make sure the stator is the right one to run properly lol
