You can easily put a 150 kit on with no chance of damage, it will fit right in the crankcase, thats your best bet. Then upjet your carb to somewhere around 105. 160 kits and larger dont generally fit the crankcase without machining the case. you should be able to reach 65mph. And as far as break in, you do want to reach high rpms, for short periods of time, reach your top speed and then let go of the throttle.
