Just hit 100 miles on my scoot, was going to do oil change from Dino break in oil to synthetic, I noticed I bought high mileage part synthetic, 15 40, is this still ok to use or should I go back and get the 15 40 full sythetic?
Sorry Im a noob and asking a ton of questions, you guys rock! |

Hi
That would be fine Of more importance is regularly scheduled oil changes before the oil has a chance to get impure or start to break down On a 4 t i change engine oil every 500 to 750 miles gear oil every 1,000 Take care and ride safely my friend Yours Hank

I changed my bike into full synthetic at about 500 miles. I took the Chinese oil out very early, about 25 miles l think (looked for metal filings and cleaned the screen) and then ran USA dino oil till about 300 to 400 miles during breakin. After that it's been full synthetic. I woud not worry about the high mileage label. It's usually just additional stuff to keep the gaskets and seals better.
I had a Jeep Cherokee that leaked a few drops of oil, and changing to the Castrol GPX synthetic blend high mileage stopped the small leak. |
