Question Gy6 50cc variator recommendation anyone?

I own a Taotao gy6 50cc. My belt recently snapped and I bought a new one from a dealer in my city..$32.00 ouch!? My plastic fan was destroyed and my variator and weights has wear damage. I am looking to purchase better quality replacement. Anyone have any suggestions...? I want to buy online and not wanting to replace any other parts of the transmission. Also what are the tork specks on the variator nut.... I put on the belt I got(this is my only transportation) without changing the bad parts. I think I over torked the nut causing major loss of power. PLEASE ADVISE!!

When switching to a preformance variator like that one. Do you also need to change the clutch and flywheel? Also will this variator fit since my starter is directly above it?

if the fan is broken and the rollers are damaged you will need to replace them also. The variator is only the inside portion of the pulley, what makes it performance is it is larger diameter than the stock. As long as the outer pulley teeth and bendix are not damaged you should not have starter problems.
