Float Charger??

Pardon my typing! I spent Fri having surgery on my eye & I have an eye patch on. ! have a 2006 Sportster 1200 with a Trike Kit! I have a Float Charger with the leads wired directly to the battery. When I pull in , I just plug it in. It is about a year old. I noticed recently that the light was off. I have checked everything but unfortunately electronics are my weakest point. Ideas anyone? Irish
P.S.I want a Float Charger on it because the Drs. don't want me to ride for at least a week & my battery isn't in the best shape !
