GY6 Charging issue
I put new stator in and checked voltage at regulator ....while voltage regulator was plugged in and scooter running....black lead to green ground and red lead to yellow=10.5-11 ac volts.....to low.
Black lead to green ground and red lead to white=18 ac volts...good! Black lead to green ground and red lead to red wire=12 dc volts....to low! When I unplug regulator and check voltage coming up from stator...voltages are good to yellow and white wire. I tried 2 different voltage regulators with same result.......I ordered a new regulator just to make sure the 2 I have aren't bad....anyone have any other ideas?....TY! |

Put new stator and voltage regulator in and still only get 12.7 volts to battery!

12.75 is what you're supposed to have at the battery. It's a 12 volts system.

If the voltage is over 12v it will charge. It's not supposed to be 13 to 15v, that's yoo high and will sulfate a scooter battery. These aren't cars.

I would buy a new battery. That should solve your problem. If you have new stator and voltage reg, the battery is the only other thing I can see as the issue.

This guy knows what he's talking about. Scooters don't have ac, radio, windows and such. Not to mention the obvious size difference

I had a similar situation to this and I've attached the link to that thread.
In my case, I had replaced the R/R and checked the stator. After changing up the pin configuration at the R/R, it has been working well for 11 months. http://www.scootdawg.net/showthread.php?t=55198 |
