Question about gy6
I'm looking at getting a scooter that the company says is a GY6 250cc water cooled engine. Top speed of 75mph, question I have is where can I get performance parts. Are they the same ad the 150cc like transmission gears and jets. Belts similar size? Internals like crankshaft, piston, stator. Any big bore kits?
Any references or websites would be appreciated. |

I don't know who is advertising a GY6 250cc but there is no such thing. Chinese 250 engines are either the Linhai clone 257 or the 244cc Helix clone CN-250. The Linhai has a horizontal cylinder while the Helix clone is vertical. Since many Chinese built ATVs have the engines in them look in Chinese ATV sites for big bore or cam kits.

Only in function. The 250 engines have larger drive shafts and the components are larger and not compatible with the GY6 in either 50cc or 150cc configuration.
The Linhai 257cc is a Yamaha design while the CN-250 is a Honda copy.
