SMax 155 Long Wheelbase Kit

Anyone do an install of the long wheelbase kit from ADIO to an SMax 155? I have removed the top rear shock bolt and frame bolt that connects the engine half of the bike to the front half. The wiring and rear brake cable doesn't seem long enough to stretch the bike. Perhaps I can take the front fairing off, loosen the tie wraps and gain enough extra wiring to install the brackets. Has anyone done this? Were you able to work the wiring around enough to do the install? I don't want splice in any wire, so I may have to abort the project. I really like the look.

I'm curious too, but I have not found a kit. You must find a longer CVT.
-That is easy if your engine is a GY6 (China Honda clone). Its much more difficult to find a long CVT for a cutting edge Smax engine. If there is a will, there is a way.

Wheelbender6, I bought my kit from Webike in Japan. It is specific to the SMax. Don't need to modify the CVT. The kit is basically an extended front motor mount bracket and an extended rear shock mount. Instructions show I should only need to lengthen the CVT breather tube and radiator hose (included in the kit). All other front to rear connections should work by rerouting them. I am struggling to find enough ignition, throttle and brake line. I am going to remove more fairing to see if I can loosen some clamps to gain more length.

I checked the website and there are 2 different kits: one kit is for pre-April 2015 smax scooters and the other is for smax scooters from April 2015 and later. The frames are different some how apparently... that might make a difference as far as things being long enough (or not) It appears that it stretches it just over 5 inches.

I could guess at a couple reasons.
1) For reasons of style/appearance ... some like the stretched look.

2) A longer wheel base tends to give a smoother ride over road surfaces that are less than
perfectly smooth or even. Also the bike would be less prone to short coupled "twitchiness".
That may or may not be a desirable effect though it isn't too stretched to be problematic to
handling I think.

A small amount more lean would be needed to navigate a turn in the same track of a similar,
but shorter wheelbase bike. That also means that the minimum arc (handlebar at full lock) of
a turn will be larger than that of the short wheelbase bike as well. Again, I don't think that is
much of a handling issue since the difference is not all that great and people can and do adjust
to bikes of differing wheelbase lengths.

There may be others, but those were the first 2 that I thought about.

Well, I did think about it giving a little more length of space forward of the center of the rear
axle to carry weight. (weight carried behind the centerline of the rear axle tends to lighten
the load on the front wheel which could cause handling problems.) That is why, if I get a
smax, then I would also get the long wheelbase kit because I would want to build a full body
streamlined fairing for it similar to a fairing I am building for my 250 cc Honda Reflex. It
extends well behind the rear axle, but still will not allow it to carry very much of any load very
far behind the rear axle centerline.

It has been quite a while since I've visited the forum... Life happens and things tend to
get put on the back burner where they cool off and seem be be easily forgotten. For a
while anyway... then something comes along as a reminder... So here we are.

Ah yes, spring is springing now almost a year later and the road calls... but even for now,
my attention pulls me to the task of moving from the state of Michigan where the winters
are just becoming intolerable to me... so to southern Missouri I go.

Anyway, WOW that Smax is gorgeous!

Can you give us a little info on the conversion/build?

Any particular problems (and their solutions) with this project?

If you had much opportunity to ride it before the kit was put on, could you please give
us comments on how it handled after the project was done?

Does it live up to your expectations?

Any quirkiness or disappointing handling?

What do you like best (and least) about it?
