The insurance for ebikes and escooters debate. It'll get worse and spread to more states, trust me. I had an Apollo Ghost dual motor stand up escooter. That thing did 30mph so easy, and I never learned its top speed. I gave it to a co-worked and he modded it (Ludo kit?) and now it goes 45mph!
Both of us (myself and co-worker) have had of still have (me) ebikes that can go 35mph. Illegal for sure but we try to stay in the law, but it can be hard to resist a blast here and there. So far our police have a lax policy towards e-stuff as long as the operator shows a bit of respect and control, but it's quickly becoming the wild west in my city with all the
Amazon cheap/fast e-products showing up on the streets.
Another bad thing about ebikes. People with no powered 2-wheel experience can just hop on a e-product and ride, as most have throttles. That can good and bad. I see so many fools get on ebikes that can't control a regular analog bicycles. You can guess the results.
