In my defense, lol, none of the 5 different PDI references I used mentioned anything about greasing the headset. If any of them did, I would've. (and being a newbie, I relied on the PDI reference sources immensely and was very thorough.). Only one even mentioned to make sure the collar nuts were tight...and they were. Too tight!

Scooter Madness had already written back by the time I woke up and told me they're sending out new bearings immediately.

Word. Cool that they are sending you bearings. grease your new bearings with high-temperature bearing grease, and then tighten away, don't worry about tightening too much at this point, after you ride 400 miles, re-tighten, this time, don't over tighten.

Nice bike by the way, my wife rides a 2013 BMS Roman 150. I love it. I'd gladly swap my MC-23 for a nice Roman.
