Changed my engine oil, as always, used Mobil Delvac 15w/40, cost $1.70 (24 ounces) odometer now at 13,003.5 miles.
The stats on drained oil... 757 miles covered, 32.8 hours of run time, 9.51 gallons of fuel burned. Oil drained was discolored...but nowhere near black. I could go farther than 750 miles between changes, but choose not to. This scooter runs as well as it ever has, uses/burns no oil... engine is bone dry, no leaks or drips. Always starts quickly, always idles steady.....and has never left me stranded. I think I'll keep doing, what I've been doing......it seems to be working. Last edited by rks; 09-06-2017 at 04:53 PM. |

Today .... I took the float assembly out of the tank and got it working and found a gasket that would fit the sender unit and that should take care of the gas leak when the tank was full and last I checked the gas gauge was working. I also got a bolt and made an attachment point for a broken side panel so it will be more secure until I can find a replacement. It's a work in progress but getting better all the time.

I started trickle charging my scoot battery with one of those little solar chargers (like the ones people used to keep on the dash of their car.)
-I only get to ride on weekends, weather permitting, so its a little rough on my battery as it gets older. -I mounted the solar panel on the west wall of my garage and ran the wires inside to the scoot.

I ignored the slipping belt and plan on riding it 250 miles this Sunday! Excitement, especially if it breaks down in a ghetto! Seriously, I need to do a parts order and overhaul the transmission and check the valves. Both are long overdue. But I do plan on the ride this Sunday.

Well heck this weekend replaced the front disc & pad, then had to spend the last couple days extensively testing it to make sure it's holding up

The wife and I rode our scoots over to the shop for annual safety inspection stickers. A weathered looking fellow in a Harley Davidson shirt did the inspection.

I finally got around to soldering the fuse wires and used heat shrink to seal the solder joints.... finally. Sometimes it takes me 3 years to do a 10 minute job.

Having gotten the electrical issue fixed on the CF Moto I took it down for the annual inspection. It passed and is running as well as ever. I can't believe it's ten years old and running this well. Just passed 17,000 miles.

Took my 2019 Piaggio Liberty 150 in for its 6000 mile service. Made the reservation a week and a half in advance and took it in cold (valves) so I could take it back the same day. I get to the dealership on time, drop it off and within a hour of killing time I get a call. They didnt have all the parts for the service!? The rollers still looked good but my air filter needs changing still. I'll get the air filter done when I get the rear tire changed. They say they keep the tire in stock....
