Got my new carb but have a ?

New carb is pretty close to the old one...Just want to no what the short black hose is for....

It is just a vent hose. Your old carb had one originally.....if not there now, it either fell off, or was removed by someone.

Ok thanks for the help...I was looking at my old one and noticed it had a block off on it..But when i look closer I saw it was opened in the back of it..Again thanks....
