You said it happened more once you replaced the carb. it could be a bum carb or something that you must of did hey we are all human. I made mistakes when I worked with mercedes. One time I was doing an oil change I forgot to put the drain plug back in and we will just say 8 quarts of oil ended up on the floor and I was made the butt of some jokes for a while lol.
