Starting Out Scooting Advice

Dave isn't a fan of Chinese but his advice is usually sound.

I agree with the article, and it is sound advice.

There are a few other alternatives for a quality inexpensive scooter. Adly and Eton are made in Taiwan and sometimes they have some new leftover models priced really low.

The Tomos Nitro 150 (made by SYM) is available for $1899 shipped.

The Kymco Agility 125 can often be found for closer to $1800. The Lance Cali Classic 125 (made by SYM) is several hundred dollars cheaper than the more expensive 150cc version. These 125cc scooters have no problems keeping up with 150cc Chinese scooters as far as engine performance is concerned.
